EBC25 – Call for Papers
Become a speaker at the EBC25, taking place on 02-03 December 2025, at the Titanic Hotel Berlin, Germany!
As always, our conference will focus on the latest innovations in biobased and biodegradable plastics, the current political landscape, as well as environmental aspects, and opportunities for growth in the circular economy. You are invited to submit proposals for a presentation or poster on the following topics:
- Policy: Availability and sustainability of biomass, Update and views on ongoing or recently finalised policy dossiers, Social acceptance of bioplastics
- Recycling and recyclability: Design for recycling, Recycling of biodegradable and compostable plastics, European Recycling infrastructure, Success stories and/or R+D of bioplastics recycling
- Compostable plastics: Acceptance of compostable materials throughout EU/outside EU, EN 13432 Revision
- Sustainability aspects: Environmental impacts, Microplastics, Recent developments in improved feedstock sourcing, LCA of certain bioplastics/recent and new studies
- Opportunities for market increase: Different materials, market data, National, regional and local incentives to push bioplastics demand, Market and trends EU/non-EU
- High-Performance/functional Bioplastics – Innovations for Technical Applications: Automotive/Transport, Textiles/Apparel/Protective Equipment, Additives, Bio-Medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics
- Biodegradability: New innovations for agriculture, freshwater, marine environment, Biodegradability in non-controlled environment/general degradability
- Biobased: Drop-in biobased plastic/Novel biobased plastics, Sustainable Feedstock sourcing, Comparison of biobased with conventional options, and
- Everything new, exciting, and bioplastic-related that should be part of our programme!
If you would like to contribute to this year’s conference, please fill out the online abstract template. As in the past years, we also invite proposals for poster presentations, giving researchers and new projects a stage to introduce their findings in the fields of biopolymer research, packaging, and building blocks. Sounds like a good opportunity? Then, please, submit your proposal.
To create the best possible programme for our conference, please note that we have a thorough evaluation process. Kindly provide us with as much detail as possible to increase your chances of being picked as a speaker. Therefore, we ask for your understanding that we cannot take all abstracts into consideration.
