EBC 24 - Call for Papers and Registration open

Become a speaker at the EBC 24, taking place on  10/11 December 2024, at the Titanic Hotel Berlin, Germany!  

The EBC 24 will focus on the latest innovations in biobased and biodegradable plastics, the current political landscape, as well as on different environmental aspects and opportunities for their growth in the circular economy.  

We would be delighted to welcome you as a speaker at the EBC 24 presenting on one of the following topics: 

• Compostable, biodegradable and/or biobased plastics – latest material and process innovations,
• Current policy developments for biobased and compostable plastics in the EU and globally,
• Consumer awareness and behaviors towards bioplastics,
• Packaging innovations using biopolymers and their role in a circular economy,
• Recycling of biobased plastics,
• Current developments in the standardization of biobased and biodegradable plastics,
• Compostable, biodegradable and/or biobased plastics – latest material and process innovations,
• Biobased polymers in durable applications such as toys, medical devices, electronics, automotive etc.,
• Sustainably sourced alternative feedstocks,
• Soil-biodegradable polymers in agricultural applications,
• Integrating rural economy into biomanufacturing,
• Nanomaterials and nanotechnologies for bioplastics,
• Circular design of bio-based processes and products, and
• Everything new, exciting, and bioplastic-related that should be part of our programme!

We also invite proposals for poster presentations, giving researchers and new projects a stage to introduce their findings in the fields of biopolymer research, packaging, and building blocks. To create the best possible programme for our conference, please note that we have a thorough evaluation process. Kindly provide us with as much detail as possible to increase your chance to be picked as a speaker. We look forward to all abstracts, but we ask for your understanding that we cannot take all abstracts into consideration.  
 
The deadline for the abstract submission is 30 June 2024. 
 
Today, we also open our registration for the EBC 24. Get your ticket before 29 July 2024 to save up to EUR 350 with the Early Bird rate!

The conference will be a hybrid event, you can either join on-site in Berlin or via our event platform.   

On 9th December from 5-8 pm CET, we will hold a side event on recycling approaches and technologies in collaboration with EU-funded projects in research and innovation, "Recycling strategies for bioplastics: what's next?".
