Invitation: Join us for the first EUBP Talk of our new webinar series on Alternative Feedstock
Dear Members,
Get ready for something different – we're launching our new EUBP Talk webinar series. Tune in to discuss everything “Alternative Feedstock” in a casual coffee break-style atmosphere.
For this first EUBP Talk entitled “From Linear to Circular: Waste Cooking Oils as Feedstock for Polymers and Plastics”, our guest speaker, Antonino Biundo Ph.D., from the University of Bari Aldo Moro, will be sharing insights on the topic of waste cooking oils as feedstock for the production of polymers and plastics through enzymatic modifications.
This session aims to foster informal discussion and is a great opportunity for industry and researchers to gather in a relaxed setting and exchange ideas on this important subject.
Background of the project: the REWIND project, funded by the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action, explores how to use waste cooking oil as feedstock for polymer bioproduction through enzymatic recycling. Waste cooking oils are currently already being transformed into biofuels, but they have the potential to be valorised to create high-value products that are food-contact safe. Antonino Biundo will delve into the REWIND approach and explain how it is contributing to the circularity and sustainability goals of the EU.
Date: 10 April 2024 Time: 10:00 – 10:45 am (CET)
Please note that this session will not be recorded, and the presentation will not be shared afterwards. Instead, we encourage open dialogue and interaction among participants.
