European Bioplastics joins other stakeholders to promote the EU Sustainable Carbon Policy Package
Through a joint statement, European Bioplastics called for Member States to support the EU Sustainable Carbon Policy Package as part of a future green EU Industrial Deal. This statement was shared ahead of the Competitiveness Council meeting on 24 May 2024. The co-signatories to the joint statement are EU industry organisations who are leading the development and deployment of sustainable carbon feedstock from biomass, recycling, and CCU.

Save the date for EUBP Talk #3
The third talk of the series “From brewery waste to bioplastics: results of the BioSupPack project on new value chains for innovative and sustainable packaging” will take place on 19 June 2024. Our guest speaker, Rosa González Leyba, from AIMPLAS, will talk about the innovation being done at the BBI-funded project, the valorisation of both by-products from the agri-food industry and different types of waste and their key role in the improvement of sustainability.

New R&D project on waste management and upcycling project kicking off in June 2024
MoeBIOS is a new R&D project funded by the European Union through the Circular Biobased Europe Joint Undertaking focusing on the improvement of waste management of biobased plastics and on the upcycling in packaging, textile and agriculture sectors. The project will kick off in June 2024 under the lead of ITENE and with 21 partners spread across Europe.

PRESERVE Training on Biodegradation by Normec OWS
On 24 May 2024 at 10:00 am CET, the PRESERVE project organised an online training, delivered by EUBP member Normec OWS and moderated by European Bioplastics. The training on “Biodegradation: one concept, many environments” is the second webinar of a training series which touches upon key topics of interest in the realm of sustainable packaging and EU research and innovation projects, such as the Safe and Sustainable by Design Framework, biodegradation and Open Science.
